A person of Neshiyah
Micah Kfir, child
Child
Micah Kfir
Child, about 19 years old. This is the second life this soul has lived in Neshiyah.
Micah Kfir is a small, quick child, all elbows and scuffed knees, who moves through the town like a gust of wind through a wheat field. At the mill, they perch on a sack of grain, legs swinging, asking Yarden Zohar a hundred questions about the grinding stones, then believing every answer without pause. Their one habit is humming—a low, tuneless buzz that starts when they work the vegetable rows and only stops when they sleep. They want to see what lies beyond the fog, though they’d never say it aloud. The town sees them as harmless, a little odd, a child who talks to the air and wakes muttering about the mist, but no one minds. They are simply Micah, always in motion, always listening.
Temperament
Curious to a fault; quick to believe what they are told; hard to anger; friendly enough; never still.
What people say
Micah Kfir believes what everyone believes: the fog is the edge of the world, and the fields need working whether it is true or not.
The dream
Since the morning they were born they have carried a sentence in a voice like their own: “the fog is just fog.”
